Everthing depends on how you see it: Fast and Furious 5 opposite opinions

Fast and Furious 5 is good because...

·         the director and producer Rob Cohen invested in high voltage: there are at least three spectacular action sequences:
1.      Right before the film starts, Dom (Vin Diesel) is rescued from a prison bus by Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster) on a desert road.
2.      In Brazil, the group of thieves led by Dom steal cars on a moving train.
3.      This group drags a huge safe througout Rio de Janeiro in a chase that leaves the city in ruins, but doesn't kill a single pedestrian.

·         the presecutions, the dynamic among the characters, illegal racing... everything is there, even better and packed in a film about well planned thefts.

·         it could be divided into a lot of subplots, as it brings back loads of familiar faces from the previous films to entertain the fans.

Fast and Furious 5 is bad because...

·         the saga itself always shows the same plot: beautiful and powerful cars plus a lot of action.

·         thieves stupidly make a simple car theft become a big blow when they find a chip in a car containing everything about the illegal practices of an influential politician

·         there are many nonrealistic scenes and places, like the slums they show in Rio, which are very different from the real slums we see here.

·         the scrip is confusing (you never know which group people belong) and the cast performance is weak. In short, it is a real fiasco.

So, it is recommended that you see the film to take your
own conclusions, because people can have different
opinions about the same film! For you to have an idea
about Fast and Furious 5, here´s the trailer:
