Lights, Camera, Curses!

Do you believe in curses? What about cursed films?
There have actually been many films that have a supposed "curse" on them that has affected the production, and even the cast and crew.
It is rumored that cast members have died because of the curses. Supposedly, there is something out there that did not want these movies to be made.
The list below show some of these films.

The Crow

One of the most romantic and disturbing films ever made was The Crow. The story is about a musician who is getting ready to marry the love of his life. Then a gang of hoods enters their house, rapes the woman and kills them. One year later he returns to life and wants revenge in the name of eternal love.

Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) was accidentally shot and killed at the age of 28 while filming The Crow. A real bullet was put in a gun that was to be used in a scene and it struck Lee in the abdomen. He fell down instantly and the director shouted: Cut! When Lee did not get up, the cast and crew rushed to him and found that he was wounded. He was taken to a hospital but after a six-hour operation to remove the bullet, he was pronounced dead.

Brandon himself, that day, refused to wear his bulletproof vest, and actually said: "If it's my time to go, then it's my time."

Rebel without a cause

The film Rebel Without a Cause is the history of rebellious teenagers that defies the American moral moral rules.
Unfortunately, the main actors died young, under
strange circumstances.

James Dean died in a car crash while driving his Porshe before the film even opened. He was 24 years old.

Natalie Wood's body was found floating face down off Catalina Island in 1981. Her death was called an "accidental drowning". Some suspect suicide or murder.

Sal Mineo was stabbed in the heart by robber outside his apartment in 1974. He was 37 years old.

Nick Adams died of apparent drug overdose at his home. No syringes or pill bottles were found in the house. Several people believe he may have been murdered. He was 37 years old.

Superman

As you must know, Superman's main actors had several problems after been in this film.

- George Reeves played Superman in 1951. On June 16, 1959, he was found dead of a gunshot wound at his home, but people say he commited suicide.

- Bud Collyer voiced the first Superman cartoon from 1941 - 1943 and three years later he died of a circulatory ailment.

- Lee Quigley played Superman as a baby in the 1978 film. He died in 1991 at age 14 due to solvent abuse.

- Kirk Alyn played Superman in two low-budget 1940s serials. He later appeared as Lois Lane's father in the 1978 film. Alyn suffered from Alzheimer's disease and died in 1999.

- Christopher Reeve played Superman in the film series The Superman I, II, III and IV. On May 27, 1995, he was thrown from his horse and he was paralized from the neck down. Reeve died on 2004 due to a heart failure stemming from his medical condition.

Poltergeist

Poltergeist film was a big success in the 80's with a trilogy. Not only because it was a great movie but due to unexpected deaths of its cast. Those deaths contributed for rumors about a curse.

Dominique Dunne died a few months after the first film, on November 4, in 1982. Her boyfriend chocked her into a coma from which she never awoke.

Heather O'Rourke played Carol Anne in all the three films. She died before the third film was released of a septic shock. She was 12 years old.

 The Exorcist

The film was based on actual events involving the possession of a young boy.  There were a number of deaths that occured during the making of and after the film's release. People say there were nine deaths.
Jack MacGowran, who played Burke Dennings, died shortly before the film's release as a result of complications of the flu at the age of 55.

Valsiliki Maliaros also died before the release of the film. She was 90 years old when she passed away of natural causes in 1973.

Lee J. Cobb died three years later from a heart attack  at the age of 64.

The Assistant Director of the film, Terrance Donnelly, reports that in his 32 years of film making, he never once experienced a set catching on fire. It caught on fire when no one was at the location and had to be rebuilt.
Marcel Vercoutere, responsible for some of the film's special effects, reports feeling frightened when working on the set:

We were playing around with something that we shouldn't have been playing around with.
